As the only full service septic company in the area, we have an excellent office support staff that answers every call received. The most common complement the Design Dept receives is gratitude for taking the call as they could not make contact with other designers. We offer to place the client on a waitlist which consistently contains a minimum of 100 names.
We would love to have more designers on our staff, but they are hard to come by, especially with all the new construction coming into Northwest Arkansas. We promise we will get to you, just please be patient with us. Quality takes time and quality is what you will get.

Each septic installation is unique but there are common milestones that you can expect.
The Environmental Protection Agency recommends every 3-5 years and this is a reasonable time frame. The real world answer depends on a variety of factors such as the number of people in your home, your diet, certain medical conditions, whether the garbage disposal is used like a trash can, or whether kids like to flush teddy bears and Barbie heads (true stories). If you can’t remember the last time it was pumped or if the seller of the home can’t tell you, then it is time to clean the tank. The short answer is, gross and expensive problems.
Let us explain. The main purpose of the tank is to catch solid things that could clog up your absorption field. When you flush, run the dishwasher, take a shower, etc all that dirty water drains into the tank. The tank catches anything that floats or sinks. Anything that floats to the top is called a Scum Layer. Anything that sinks to the bottom is called the Sludge layer. This leaves a middle layer that is a little cleaner. Septic tanks are designed to allow only that clarified middle layer to drain out to your absorption field. Over time, the top and bottom layers become too thick and that’s when the tank needs to be cleaned out. If the tank isn’t cleaned out then the solid stuff that the tank has been holding will get flushed out into the absorption field. This will cause the field to become clogged and the system will no longer work. You could also have sewage backing up into the house. Unfortunately, once that happens you could be facing an expensive replacement. Pumping the tank out regularly is definitely the less expensive option.
